What is Soulee?

the computer Soulee

Soulee holds many special meanings for me. Its birth began in my infancy, a baby word for a silk blanket I possessed. That blanket comforted me. It provided protection and confidence for me to step out into my childhood.

As I grew up, the word was forgotten.

Soulee re-emerged again in the form of my first computer. An IBM 365 Thinkpad. A wonderful gift to begin my college experience. It was the perfect name for the computer. Unique, special, and leading me into a new world. Soulee was a good companion. She helped me survive college by linking me to music, information and people. She taught me that machines are fascinating and can easily take on human characteristics. She witnessed my pain and happiness.

As the years past, she grew old. Before long, hardware issues began to plague her. One day, her power switch no longer awoke her. With help, she was transplanted to a new shell. But within weeks, her LCD panel descended into darkness. External monitors kept her alive. But using Soulee became impractical. I still recall the day Soulee became part of Moloch. Moloch is a machine that now holds Soulee. She is still with me, in pieces across him. It gives me a comfort that she still lives in some form.

When this domain came into being. I searched for the word across the web. And what I found, is this beautiful definition:

Soulee means energy, drive, and ambition. Soulee is strong-willed and wields an independent nature. Soulee is creative, inventive, ingenious in practical matters, and ready to initiate action. Soulee is chaotic with changing interests and circumstances. Soulee is intensely involved with every idea Soulee creates.

Who are you?

You will not find a one word description of what I am here. Human beings were not meant to define themselves in one word. Anyone who is capable of doing so is probably lying. Soulee.net is here to show you who I am, a multi-faceted person, who is constantly changing and seeking experiences. It is a sanctuary for me to create and expand my knowledge, as well as, to reflect on moments past.

When creating this page, I asked myself....Why do people make web pages? Usually, it is to facilitate some kind of information to the world. Personal web pages represent their creator. People express their feelings on any number of topics, including: every detail of their personal lives, their ever-expanding resume, photographs of people you will never meet, and traits of a person you may never know. This is why I state this now, this web site is for me, to continue to grow and to provide me a playground to test my skills as they develop. You may observe my transformation.
